Orders & checkout

Can I cancel or change my order?

If your order hasn't shipped yet, yes — message us as soon as possible with your order number. Once a parcel has shipped, the order is locked. After that, you can return the kit if it's defective or has measurement issues — see our Returns Policy for details.

Why was my payment declined?

Common reasons: incorrect card details, address mismatch, your bank flagging the international transaction, or insufficient funds. Try again, or use a different payment method (Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Amazon Pay are usually quickest). If it keeps failing, your bank can confirm whether they're blocking the charge.

Do I need an account to order?

No — you can check out as a guest. Creating an account makes future orders faster and lets you track shipments and save kits to your wishlist, but it's optional.

Do you offer BOGO discounts? How do they work?

Yes — our BOGO sale runs on most kits and automatically applies at checkout. The more you add, the more you save: 2 kits get 30% off the cheapest one, 3 kits get 60% off the cheapest, 4 kits get one free, 5 kits get two at 75% off, and 6 or more get two free. BOGO applies to kits only — boots, balls, training suits, and shorts are excluded.

Can I combine BOGO with a coupon code?

When our BOGO promotion is active, coupon codes are disabled at checkout — the BOGO discount automatically applies to your cart, so there’s no code needed. When BOGO isn’t running, coupon codes work normally.

Shipping & delivery

How long does shipping take?

UK orders typically arrive in 2–4 business days. Europe takes 4–7 days. The rest of the world is usually 7–14 days. Customised kits add 2–3 days for the printing. You'll get a tracking link as soon as your order ships.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes — to over 120 countries. Shipping cost is calculated at checkout based on your delivery address.

Are there customs or duties?

Customs and import duties vary by country and are the buyer's responsibility. We don't have control over them. UK and EU buyers usually don't pay anything extra; some other countries do. Check your local rules if you're unsure.

What’s express shipping and when should I choose it?

Express shipping uses FedEx or DHL and arrives within a maximum of 5 business days worldwide. Choose it at checkout if you need your kit fast — for a birthday, match day, or gift. Express costs more than standard but the delivery is reliably quick.

How long does shipping take to my country?

Standard delivery times from the day we send your tracking number: UK 8–12 days · Europe 8–15 days · USA 10–15 days · Asia 15 days · Africa 15+ days. Add 2–4 business days for processing before dispatch. See our Shipping Policy for full details.

Can I track my order without an account?

Yes — visit theretrokit.com/track-order and enter your order number plus the email you used at checkout. No login required.

Returns & refunds

What's your return policy?

We accept returns only for defective kits, wrong-labeled sizes, or measurements that don't match what we listed. Send us photos within 14 days of delivery and we'll sort it out. Customised kits can only be returned for printing faults. See our Returns Policy for full details.

How do I return something?

Email us at info@theretrokit.com or use our contact form with your order number, the issue, and clear photos. Once we approve the return, we'll send you a shipping label — we cover return postage for defective or wrong items.

When will I get my refund?

Refunds are processed within 3–5 business days of being approved. The money typically lands back in your account 3–7 days after that, depending on your bank.

Do I need to send a kit back to get a refund?

It depends on the situation. For a lost order that never arrived, no return is needed — we refund once the carrier confirms the loss. For a defective kit or measurement issue, send us clear photos first — we’ll often refund or replace without requiring the kit back. When we do need it returned, we provide the return shipping label.

What if the kit fits but I just don’t like it?

We don’t accept returns for change of mind — only for defective kits, wrong-labeled sizes, or measurements that don’t match. Each product page lists the actual measurements, so please check them carefully before ordering. If you’re unsure, message us before you buy and we’ll help.

Sizing & fit

How do your sizes run?

Retro shirts can run differently from modern fits — older eras (80s, early 90s) tended to be roomier, later ones more fitted. Always check the size guide on each product page for actual chest/length measurements before ordering.

Where's your size guide?

Each product page has a "Size guide" link below the size selector with measurements specific to that kit. We don't use a single guide because different eras and manufacturers fit differently.

What if my size is sold out?

Retro shirts are limited — when a size sells out, that's usually it. Save the kit to your wishlist and we'll email you if it comes back in stock. You can also message us for a custom request.

What if I’m between sizes?

Most retro kits fit regular but older eras can run smaller — if you’re hesitating between two sizes, pick the bigger one. Always check the actual chest and length measurements on the product page before ordering.

Customisation

Can I add a name and number?

Yes — most kits have customisation options on the product page. Player Name (up to 12 characters), Player Number (0–99) in authentic font, and an Era Patch where applicable. Goalkeeper kits and a few special editions don't take customisation.

How long does customisation take?

Customised orders take an extra 2–3 business days for the printing and pressing before they ship.

Are customised kits returnable?

Customised kits can only be returned if there's a fault with the kit itself or a printing error. Buyer's-remorse returns aren't possible because the customisation is permanent. Triple-check the spelling and number before checkout.

Can I add a player name AND number AND patch on one kit?

Yes — you can add all three when you customise. On the product page, choose your player name, number, and the league/competition patch (World Cup, Champions League, Premier League, etc.). Each add-on has its own small fee shown at checkout.

What’s Player Version vs standard kit?

Player Version is the exact high-performance kit worn by players on the pitch — lightweight, breathable fabric, tighter athletic fit, and heat-applied logos for reduced weight. Standard kits use the same design with a regular fit and traditional materials.

Can I change my customisation after ordering?

If your kit hasn’t shipped yet, message us immediately with your order number and the change. Once customisation has been printed and pressed, the change is permanent and the kit ships as-is.

Do kits come with patches by default?

No — kits ship without league or competition patches unless you specifically add one during customisation. If you’re not sure which patch (or font, where multiple fonts are offered) you want, message us and we’ll help you pick.

Account & payment

I forgot my password

Click "Forgot password?" on the login page. We'll email you a reset link. If the email doesn't arrive within a few minutes, check your spam folder, or message us if you're stuck.

Do you offer gift cards?

Yes — digital gift cards are available in any amount. They're sent by email and can be redeemed against any kit on the site.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, plus Apple Pay, Google Pay, Amazon Pay, Klarna, and Afterpay/Clearpay (where available). All payments are processed through Stripe, a global payment processor used by major retailers.

Is my payment information secure?

Yes. We process all payments through Stripe, which is PCI DSS compliant and uses bank-level encryption. Your card details are never stored on our servers — Stripe handles everything end-to-end.

Do you store my card details?

No — we never see or store your full card number. If you opt to save a payment method to your account for faster checkout, it’s stored securely with Stripe (not us), and you can remove it at any time from your account.
